Happenings: World Literacy Day (Classes III-V)"The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it from you."
??International Literacy Day (ILD) is celebrated annually on September 8 across the world to make the people aware of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights.
?? Many activities were organised for the young learners of Classes III to V.
??Class III participated in 'Show and Tell' activity which gave children an opportunity to hone their oratory skills. They took great delight while showing and speaking about different topics like their favourite toy/a plant that they take care of, in about 60 seconds.
??Poem Recitation Activity was conducted for Class IV, wherein they had prepared a poem of 8-10 lines by any famous poet like Ruskin Bond, R. L. Stevenson, A. A. Milne, etc. They presented it in a vibrant and colourful way by holding a prop in their hands or wearing a head gear.
??To show the joy of learning and fulfill the mission of literacy, the students of Class V retold the tales written by few of the famous authors like Rabindra Nath Tagore, Roald Dahl, Ruskin Bond, etc. in their own words.
??They participated whole-heartedly and enjoyed the event to the fullest. The little learners exhibited their talents by re-using materials available at home to design the props for the activities in a creative way.
They spread the message about the importance of literacy with great enthusiasm and zeal.
